The subject of ecclesiastical separation from the Synod of Australia was taken into consideration, when it was unanimously agreed to transmit an overture on the subject to the Synod at its next meeting. The overture proposes that the Synod take such steps as may be necessary for constituting the ministers and elders connected with the Presbyterian congregations in this district into a separate and independent body.
The moderator was authorised to apply for salary to the Rev. Mr. Gunn, under the fifth clause of Church Act.
In reference to the lately published correspondence between Dr. Fullerton and Mr. Gunn, regarding travelling expenses the finding of the Presbytery was to this effect: - That, admitting ground of complaint to exist, the matter complained of ought to have been referred in the first instance to the proper Church Court.
